Fermented ginseng
Ginseng(The roots of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) has been used as the highest qualified oriental natural medicine for the last 2,000 years. It is very well known with its prominent effects in cure and prevention for various diseases and as an invigorant inbreathing energy and vitality. It also does not give side effects to the long term takers.
According to Jungcho Yakhak, which is pharmacopeia for oriental herb, it is expressed with its features of strengthening lung and bodies and relaxing hearts. Shin-nongbon-chogyung, which is also kind of pharmacopeia, written in Chinsese Huhan Dynaasty ear, reads that it is used for increasing vigor of liver, hearts, lungs and kidney, good for stomach and blood circulation, showing effect in stopping intestinal convulsion, emesis, thirsty and it works for longevity.
What is Fermented Ginseng?
Until Now, more than thirty kinds of Ginsenoside, which is a compound word of Ginseng and Glycoside, has been derived from Korea Ginseng. The structural features are classified as Diol, Triol and Oleanane and we are recognized that the medical actions by each of those classifications are different. Ginsenoside, which is the efficient elements with the largest particles within ginseng, can not be taken by itself into our body but taken after it is decomposed to small sized Ginsenoside by microorganism in the organs.
And it is called 'Fermented Ginseng' gaining from microorganism fermentation to increase ratio of taking of Ginsenoside and standardization.

Why does the fermented ginseng show its excellence?
By fermenting ginseng, Glycoside Ginsenoside, is converted into non Glycoside Ginsenoside. In other words, Glucose, attached into saponin, is metabolized by Lactobacillues bifidus and converted into small sized Ginsenoside.
The fermented ginseng contains high concentration of Compound K, PPD, PPT and ginsenoside with efficient effects, such as Rh1, Rh2, Rg5, Rk1, so its body taking ratio is high and it is expected to maximize its efficiency in pharmacology.
Fermented Ginseng= Overcoming individual variation and realizing the standardization.
The existing number of Microorganism in the organs, decomposing Ginsenoside, is different by persons, health condition, environments and Western and Oriental, having different diet. About 37.5% of Korean ethnics does not have microorganism decomposing ginsenoside within body or does not meet the balance, so it is not fully taken into body. 20.5% people has taken Diol Ginsenoside, 12.5% people has taken Triol Ginsenoside and 5% has been known as not having taking ability. Even the 62.5% people with decomposing microorganism show big difference in taking ratio. It is why the functional effects of takers are shown differently.
For example, Dioa, mainly composed with ginsenoside-Rb, is good for relaxation and Triol, mainly composed with ginsenoside-Rg is good for excitement within certral nerve system. Some allergic to Ginseng or its products feel heats, headache or blood pressure or fatigue and exhaustion. It occurs by only one or no element out of many being taken into body. The fermented Ginseng is raising specified microorganism to remove those individual variations, so it will increase body taking ratio and achieved standardization.

Not only ginsenoside, the efficient elements of Ginseng, but also non ginsenoside can be taken by fermenting the whole roots of ginseng. (Ginseng consists of 3~6% of ginsenoside, 60~70% of carbonhydrate, 9~15% of nitrogen components, 20% of liposolubility chemicals, 0.05% of vitamin and 4% of inorganic matter.
